Mt Lemmon to the Top

This route travels from Le Buzz Coffee (a popular hang out for Mt. Lemmon Cyclists) up Mt Lemmon on Catalana Highway. Turn around is at Ski Valley on the top of Mt Lemmon.

Terrain: Flat to rolling for the first few miles to the base of the mountain. Then a 28 mile climb to the summit. The route enters Summerhaven where the General Store is a Control. Then descend back down the way you came.

Mt Lemmon is one big hill – will I make the checkpoints on time?

Answer: The control at the summit is not timed, so the only time that matters is the total time to complete the ride. You’ll need to average about 10 mph for the climb and descent in order to make the closing time.
