Iconic Mountains Series: 200k on Sat + 100k, 200k on Sun
The Mountains: Kitt Peak & Mt. Lemmon
This is necessarily a weekend series because cycling in Sabino Canyon comes with the following restrictions: Cycling in Tucson's Sabino Canyon offers stunning desert scenery on a paved road, with specific hours for bikes: before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. (Sunday-Friday), with no bikes allowed on Wednesdays or Saturdays, and e-bikes are prohibited. So, with these restrictions, we can, pragmatically, only offer these events on Sunday and before 9 am. Since it's so nice to ride there, that's what we'll do! The 2 routes that ride Sabino Canyon will be held on Sunday.
This is a weekend series that those who love to climb will want to attend. Not only will you climb Kitt Peak (6800', 2100m) and Mt. Lemmon (9060', 2760m), you will also get to climb Sabino Canyon and visit Saguaro National Park east and west. That's a lot of challenge and beauty compressed into a weekend!
